About Dr. Carr

Dr. Gary B. Carr, widely recognized as the "Father of Microscopic Endodontics" began practicing endodontics in San Diego in 1982. He received his B.A. from Cornell University in 1969. Dr. Carr served in Vietnam in the U.S. Navy from 1970–72 as a Line Officer aboard the USS Coral Sea. He received his dental degree at SUNYAB (Buffalo, NY) in 1976 and his specialty endodontic training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1982. He is a diplomate of the American Association of Endodontists.

Our Office

Dr. Gary B. Carr received his A.B Degree at Cornell University in the Classics, his DDS degree at SUNYAB, and Endodontic Certificate at University of Illinois. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and has been practicing endodontics for over 25 years in San Diego, California. He has trained hundreds of endodontists and their staff in microsurgical and retreatment techniques and is the Director and Founder of Pacific Endodontic Research Foundation. He lives in Rancho Santa Fe with his wife and son.

Joy Haskins has been Dr. Carr's assistant for over 20 years and is the developer of many innovative assisting techniques used in microscopic endodontics. She has helped train dental assistants the world over in advanced assisting microsurgical techniques and is universally acknowledged as one the finest endodontic assistants in the United states. She lives in Chula Vista with her husband and two children.

Dr. Carr is the creator and developer of TDO, a digital office software for endodontists widely recognized as the gold standard in endodontic record keeping. He has mentored hundreds of endodontists in the United States and many foreign countries using the software.
